A ruby red in color wine, intense, herbaceous and winey scent with hints recalling the wild blackberry and soft fruit. Sharp, slightly tannic and pleasingly bitterish flavor. Named for its red stem, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is a native vine of Friuli and considered one of the best in the area. Its origin is supposed to be between northeastern Italy and Istria in Croatia.
